Sofía Medici

Argentina

Laura Kalauz and Sofia Medici’s work raises questions about contemporary life. Their interest lies in revisiting the assumptions that govern social behaviour, shaping the way we do and think. Thus, they develop strategies that investigate the power of artistic practice to intervene reality and generate political imagination in its wake. Their projects take the form of lectures, performances, excursions, debates, plays and installations, where they use art to challenge the boundaries between reality and fiction.

Together they created Nostalgia for a Future Science Fiction (2014), Reported Speech (2015), Monumental Project (2017), Darwin kidnaps three Fuegians and teaches them English (2017).

His works were presented at De Singel (Antwerp 2014)/ Venice Biennale (2015)/ NAVE (Santiago de Chile 2017)/ Casa del Bicentenario (BienalSur 2017), Centro Cultural San Martín, among others.
