Unknown ———— Urbanity

From the photographic images of a specific space, located in a certain geography of the Province of Buenos Aires (Argentina), artists from India and Lebanon, who have never visited the location or know its history, construct fictional texts that are not necessarily related with the present of the place or with events of the past. They create exciting worlds that incite possible fictions.

With these new stories in hand, artists residing in Buenos Aires are invited to intervene in the space and develop site-specific exhibitions and interventions based on stories written from a distance.

In this project, two site-specific exhibitions/interventions were commissioned that were born from the collaborations between Abhishek Majumdar (India), Sofía Medici and Laura Kalauz (Argentina) that created the HISTORICAL LINE project; Maya Zbib (Lebanon), Florencia Rodríguez Giles (Argentina) and Alina Marinelli (Argentina) who created the INANNA METHOD project.

The project AN UNKNOWN URBANITY was presented at the III International Dramaturgy Festival in co-production with the Fluorescent Platform and Vivamos Vicente López (Argentina).

This project was devised by the artist and curator Matías Umpierrez.
